Jim Christiansen

I was born a long time ago in New Rochelle, NY.   During WWII my family moved to Portland, OR and after the conflict we moved to Molalla, OR.

It was a talent show at Molalla High School that I first performed music. I sang for an audience of friends, classmates, parents, and townspeople and to my surprise came in First.

Two and a half years of college in California found me back in Portland ignoring my studies at the Museum Art School.  I was more interested in playing guitar and singing with friends in bars and coffee houses.

That's when I met Alan. . . we formed a folk group with ambitions of making our fortunes as musicians.  We headed to Hollywood and signed a recording deal with Dalton Records . . . which lead to modest success.  After four years of performing we decided to pursue jobs outside of entertainment and for over thirty years lost track of each other.  Our getting back together after all that times says something of fate (and is yet another story).
