Alan
Mickelson
I
came into this world very young on a
January day 1943, in Clatskanie, OR.
I
tried for the longest time to walk and talk
... and ... by the time I was 10, I had it
down pretty good. I decided that because
of my previous success I should play the
Souzaphone in the school band ... fun ...
and it helped to make me a great kisser
... but ohh ... that darn annual town
parade.
In High
School I continued playing the bass horn
in the school band and also taught myself
guitar. I formed my first group emulating
the popular tunes of the times. . . folk
music. We performed for school functions
and what ever else we could muster up. . .
even appearing on the Portland TV program
"Stars of Tomorrow". After high
school I moved to the big city where I
hung-out with guitar in hand at various
coffee houses. That's where I met Jim . .
. and the rest as they say is history.
My
career after music in the 60's, turned to
business and even several years as a an
elected official in Tigard, OR. Since our
reunion in 1995 I have continued to work
in sales and marketing, however music is
still very important to me.
